Bruce Lee’s art & philosophy of Jeet Kune Do is a combination of martial arts, focusing on kicking, punching, hand trapping & grappling but being bound by none.

The philosophy teaches its practitioners to incorporate all of ones knowledge & tools to develop combative effectiveness as well as personal development.

JKD is claimed to be a dynamic concept that is forever changing, thus being extremely flexible. “Absorb what is useful; Disregard that which is useless” is an often quoted Bruce Lee maxim. JKD students are encouraged to study every form of combat possible. This is believed to expand one’s knowledge of other fighting systems; to both add to one’s arsenal as well as to know how to defend against such tactics.

The Jeet Kune Do Emblem. The Chinese characters around the Taijitu symbol indicate: “Using no way as way” & “Having no limitation as limitation” The arrows represent the endless movement and change of the universe.

“Empty your mind. Be like water. Put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. Put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. Put water into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can flow, it can creep, drip or crash! Be water, my friend.”
